A Birmingham native and standout second baseman, Mauldin’s playing career spanned from high-level high school competition to the junior college ranks and the SEC.

A decorated high school athlete at Hewitt-Trussville High School (Trussville, Ala.), Mauldin was ranked the No. 7 second baseman in Alabama by Perfect Game and earned back-to-back ASWA 7A First Team All-State honors in 2018 and 2019. His early commitment to excellence laid the foundation for his collegiate success.

Mauldin began his college career at Snead State Community College, where he was a two-year impact player. As a sophomore in 2022, he hit .355 with a .421 OBP over 48 games, contributing seven doubles, a triple, a home run, and 35 RBI. He posted 14 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI performances, helping guide his team to a State Championship. During his freshman campaign, Mauldin batted .306 and reached base at a .443 clip, showing early signs of his consistency and versatility.

In 2023, Mauldin transferred to Auburn University, where he was part of one of the premier baseball programs in the SEC. Though he didn’t compete in his junior season, he remained a dedicated team contributor. In 2024, as a redshirt junior, Mauldin recorded his first collegiate hit in a pinch-hit appearance and made three game-day appearances. He was also named to the 2024 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, highlighting his commitment both on the field and in the classroom.

Most recently, Mauldin spent his fifth year at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), playing for the Blazers. His veteran presence, leadership, and deep baseball IQ made him a valuable asset to the UAB roster as he rounded out his collegiate career.

Off the field, Ty is known for his work ethic, high character, and passion for player development. He holds a major in Exercise, Performance, and Health Optimization, equipping him with a strong foundation in sports performance and athletic conditioning—essential tools in today’s game.

Ty Mauldin’s coaching philosophy is centered on discipline, growth, and excellence, and he looks forward to mentoring young athletes, helping them reach their full potential on and off the field.
